With an included suite of software programs, along with advanced printing functionality and performance, the imagePROGRAF W8400D dye printer is a complete solution for creating, processing and printing in large format. Capable of printing up to 44 in width and made possible by precision engine enhancements combined with an industry-unique array of out-of-the-box software solutions. With a four-picoliter inkjet droplet size and one-inch wide high-density printhead the imagePROGRAF W8400D offers a combination of high-speed and excellent image quality.

4 Picoliter Print Head - Inkjet technology has been a core competency of Canon for several years. Canon has developed and produced a 4pl print head with over 7,000 nozzles located within a 1-inch area. This proprietary head has a true 1200dpi pitch and allows for beautiful 2400 x 1200 dpi prints at unmatched speeds without graininess.
Borderless Printing - The W8400D is capable of producing 4-sided, borderless prints in minutes. This edge-to-edge printing ability eliminates the need for cutting and is just one example of the efficiency and innovation built into the Canon solution.
Dye Inks - The truly remarkable wide color gamut of Canon's dye -based inks provides you with the power to print your visually rich output with total color precision. The dye inks offer brilliant reproduction with unsurpassed quality on any type of media.
Media Handling - Certain photo fine art and signage applications require the ability to print directly onto thick substrates, like vinyl, canvas and fabric. The W8400D can print on media up to 0.8mm (31.4mil) thick.
Media Roll Detection System - The imagePROGRAF will track how much paper is remaining on the roll, preventing print jobs from being ruined. It prints the media information (in text and barcode) directly on the roll before it is removed from the printer. The next time the paper is loaded, it will read the barcode and apply the information.
