Description Technical Specs   Encad original cartridges have a chip that counts how much ink has passed through the cartridge. This chip will turn a cartridge off so that it will not print anymore after a certain quantity of ink has passed through it. This cartridge does not contain any chip and therefore is not limited in life by how much ink has passed through it. However, in order to actually use the cartridge you will need a decoder chip installed in your printer. Otherwise the printer will reject the cartridge since there isn't a chip telling the printer its good to go. Another important feature of the cartridge is that it will support GO, GX, and GS Ink. However it is recommended that you only use the type of ink that is supported by your printer.
